Newborn sessions don’t need to follow a strict schedule or happen in the first two weeks. Every family has their own rhythm, and sometimes the perfect time for photos is when everyone feels ready. This recent session is a beautiful example: this family reached out when their little one was already ten weeks old, and the pace of our time together reflected that.
I love photographing newborns in the comfort of their own home. It allows the session to unfold slowly, naturally, and with all the little pauses, cuddles, and quiet moments that make life with a newborn so unique. There’s no rush. There’s space to simply be present.
For this session, I shot on 35mm film, which brings a warmth and softness to each image. Film has a way of holding light and feeling, not just recording the scene, but capturing the atmosphere of those early weeks: the tiny fingers and toes, the gentle stretches, the sleepy snuggles. Each frame tells a story that feels honest and timeless.
Sessions like this are about connection over perfection. Even at ten weeks, a baby’s personality is starting to shine, and it’s a joy to capture that.
