There’s something truly magical about lavender fields in the summer. The soft hum of bees, rows of delicate blooms swaying in the breeze, and the way the light dances across the landscape as the sun begins to set — it’s all so enchanting. This mother-daughter session at Full Bloom Lavender Farm in Langley, BC, felt like stepping into the pages of a European storybook.
As a family and motherhood photographer based in Vancouver, I’m always inspired by locations that evoke emotion and connection. This July session was a perfect blend of soft summer light, nature’s beauty, and the purest kind of love. It captured the quiet, playful bond between a mother and her daughter.
A Summer Evening in the Lavender Fields
Full Bloom Lavender Farm in Langley , just a short drive from Vancouver, is a gem of a location. With its lush lavender rows and charming garden vibes, it offered the most peaceful setting for our session.
The warm evening light, paired with the pastel purples and greens of the fields, created a palette that felt timeless and romantic. It’s just the way I love to photograph families: unposed, genuine, heart-filled moments.
Capturing Connection Over Perfection
When I photograph families my goal is never to stage the “perfect” photo. Instead, I focus on creating space for connection, movement, and presence.
This session was filled with so many of those in-between moments I treasure. Soft hugs, whispers in the ear, eyes closed in contentment, and unfiltered joy.
As a mother myself, I know how fleeting these years are. I also know how important it is to not just see ourselves in photos. We want to feel the love, the effort, and the beauty that lives in these everyday exchanges.
