A Morning Vancouver Backyard Session // Vancouver family photographer
There’s something especially tender about mornings — the gentle light, the quiet hum of a new day beginning. Photographing a family in their own backyard feels a bit like pressing pause on time. It’s unhurried, intimate, and real — exactly the kind of storytelling I love most.
One sunny September morning, I spent time with Rebeka and Daniele, who were eagerly awaiting the arrival of their baby boy, and their joyful two-year-old daughter, Malena. Their backyard was full of life — soft light streaming through the trees, dew still clinging to the grass, and Malena’s laughter echoing as she explored every corner.
There was such an ease to the morning. No rush, no posing — just a family being themselves. Malena’s boundless energy and curiosity filled every frame, while her parents followed her lead with smiles and quiet glances that spoke of deep love and anticipation. Between the play and the cuddles, there were tender moments too — Rebeka’s hand resting gently on her growing belly, Daniele wrapping them both in an embrace.
What I love most about sessions like this is how home becomes part of the story. The place where ordinary days unfold turns into the backdrop of extraordinary memories. These photographs will hold this fleeting season — the morning light, the laughter, the stillness before life changes once again.
This was more than a photoshoot. It was a glimpse into their now — the beautiful in-between of being three, while waiting to become four.
