(And Why Timing Matters Less Than You Think) If you’re expecting a baby, chances are you’ve already come across advice telling you to book a newborn photographer very early, photograph your baby within a specific number of days, and prepare for a perfectly timed session. While some of that guidance can be helpful, I want […]

Choosing what to wear for maternity photos can feel overwhelming — especially when your body is changing and you’re navigating Vancouver’s unpredictable weather. As a Vancouver maternity photographer, I see firsthand how the right clothing choices can make a session feel relaxed, natural, and true to who you are. My goal is always the same: […]

Vancouver In-Studio Family Photography Session Vancouver In-Studio Family Photography Session There’s something quietly magical about photographing families in a studio — especially when the space is flooded with natural light and the pace is led entirely by the kids. This recent in-studio family photography session in Gastown, Vancouver, was a perfect example of how simple […]

Documentary-Style Maternity Photography in Vancouver // Vancouver maternity photography Some sessions feel less like a photoshoot and more like stepping into a quiet chapter of someone’s life — one they’ll look back on years from now with full hearts. My morning with Annette and David was exactly that. We began in their cozy apartment, the […]

A Morning on Main Street: A Mother–Son Adventure in Vancouver // Vancouver family photographer Some sessions feel like stepping right into a family’s rhythm — slow, tender, and full of small moments that say everything. This September morning on Main Street was exactly that. I spent a few hours with a mother and her son, […]

A Morning Vancouver Backyard Session // Vancouver family photographer There’s something especially tender about mornings — the gentle light, the quiet hum of a new day beginning. Photographing a family in their own backyard feels a bit like pressing pause on time. It’s unhurried, intimate, and real — exactly the kind of storytelling I love […]

Vancouver In-Studio Maternity Photography Session // Vancouver Maternity Photographer Rebeka, eight months into carrying her baby boy. She wanted to honour her body — in all its growth, strength, softness, and change. No hiding. No holding back. Just truth, beauty, and presence. From the moment we began her session, there was a quiet stillness in […]

A Summer Family Session at Jericho Beach // Vancouver family photography Some of the most beautiful family moments happen when you follow the child’s lead. This past September, I spent a late afternoon with a lovely little family — mom, dad, and their one-year-old daughter. She was full of curiosity and joy, and where she […]

At Home and Beyond: Capturing Real Family Life // Vancouver family photographer There’s something about photographing families in their own space, in the rhythm of their everyday life, that never fails to move me. A few months ago, I had the privilege of spending time with the Shcherbyna family. Their session wasn’t about posing, props, […]

What to Expect During Your Family Photo Session // Family photography by Lorenza Tessari Photography Family photos don’t have to be stressful or staged. My sessions are slow, gentle, and focused on what matters most — connection, love, and the little moments that make your family who you are. Here’s what to expect during your […]
BEHIND THE LENS
I am a family, newborn and maternity photographer in Vancouver, BC where I live with my wife Ilenia and our two-year old daughter, Amelie.
I grew up in Italy, where some of my happiest memories were spent flipping through old photo albums with my grandmother and my mum.
I’d get lost in those images. Even then, I understood that these photos weren’t just pictures. They were time machines. They held feelings that might have otherwise faded.
Photography has always been that for me:
a way to hold on.
to return.
to remember what really matters.
I began with a disposable camera and a quiet desire to document everything around me. Over time, that love deepened, and in 2023, when I became a mother myself, it changed everything.
Suddenly, the everyday moments became precious. I understood how uncomfortable it can feel to rush a session, to ask children to perform, to chase something that doesn’t feel true.
That experience shaped the way I work today — calmly, slowly, and with deep respect for your family as you are.
LET'S mAKE
TOGETHER
Something Beautiful
If this way of working resonates with you,
I’d love to hear about your family and this season you’re in.
