I’m drawn to maternity sessions that feel quiet, honest, and deeply present. Less about creating something overly polished, and more about documenting the softness, strength, anticipation, and in-between feeling of becoming.
Whether photographed in colour or black and white film, I’m inspired by the way film holds light, texture, movement, and emotion with so much depth and care. Nothing rushed or overdirected — just meeting people where they already are and preserving this season as truthfully as possible.
Maternity has become one of my favorite things to photograph because it carries so much at once: vulnerability, transformation, tenderness, and the feeling of standing right at the edge of a completely new life.
This is the kind of motherhood I’m drawn to photographing — not the curated version, but the real one. The snacks, the distractions, the baby on the blanket, the feeling of being needed in two places at once. The moments that can feel ordinary while you’re living them, yet become the ones you long for years later. These photographs are a reminder that there is beauty in the everyday, exactly as it is.
The early days at home with a newborn are rarely quiet or perfectly composed — and that’s part of what I love most about them. Toddlers moving through the frame, little interruptions, the beautiful unpredictability of family life unfolding in real time.
Photographed on black and white film and colour film, this session felt especially timeless to me. Stripped back to light, texture, movement, and presence — the kind of images that feel less about perfection and more about remembering what it was like to be together in those first days as a family of four.
There’s something about the ocean that feels deeply connected to motherhood for me — always moving, always changing, and yet somehow constant. This session was less about portraits and more about preserving a quiet morning together: tiny hands finding their balance, the comfort of being held, and the simple joy of discovering the world side by side.
The kinds of moments that seem small while they're happening, but become part of the story you never want to forget.
A family suspended in that beautiful in-between season — still rooted in the rhythm they know, while quietly preparing to welcome someone new into it. These sessions are never just about documenting pregnancy for me, but about preserving the feeling of a family on the edge of change, love expanding in real time, and the ordinary moments that will soon feel entirely different.
