I’m inspired by my family most of all — my wife and daughter, and the way they move through the world together and with me. So much of what I notice and photograph comes from observing their relationship: the tenderness, the familiarity, the small gestures that become part of everyday life.

Living in Vancouver, I’m constantly inspired by the ocean, the changing seasons, and how connected this city feels to nature. I’m inspired by long walks through our neighbourhood holding my daughter’s hand, by parenting books and the quiet work of trying to become a better parent and person, by relationships that continue across distance, and by the people I love both near and far.

Travel inspires me too, but lately I find myself most moved by the smaller things — the ordinary details I once took for granted and now see differently through motherhood and through re-living parts of childhood alongside my daughter.

I’m deeply inspired by the life my wife and I have built together. Our little family was a dream we carried for many years, and there’s something about finally living inside that dream that continues to shape the way I see the world and the way I photograph it.

I believe photography is less about creating perfect images and more about preserving the feeling of being alive inside a particular season of life. The photographs I’m most drawn to are the ones that hold emotion, atmosphere, movement, and memory — images that feel honest enough to return you back to a moment years later.

My philosophy is rooted in slowing down, paying attention, and finding beauty in what already exists rather than manufacturing it. I want the people I photograph to feel seen as they truly are, and for the images we create together to feel timeless, deeply personal, and full of life.

My Philosophy:

Film is at the heart of how I see and document a session. I’m drawn to its softness, texture, grain, and the way it holds light with so much depth and honesty. My editing process is less about creating perfection and more about preserving feeling — the warmth of a room, the mood of the weather, the quiet rhythm of a family together.

Every session carries its own atmosphere, which means no gallery is edited exactly the same way. My approach is intuitive and responsive to the light, tones, and emotion of each story as it naturally unfolds. Some sessions feel softer and muted, others richer or more contrasty. That variation is intentional and part of what makes film feel alive to me.

Because editing is such a personal part of the artistic process, I do not alter my style based on individual editing requests. When you choose to work with me, you’re choosing the way I see and interpret your memories through film — honestly, artfully, and with care.
