Pitt Lake Family Photoshoot

Pitt Lake Family Photoshoot // Family photos by Lorenza Tessari Photography

On a cold November day at Pitt Lake, I had the opportunity to photograph a vibrant family of four, including two energetic toddlers, surrounded by the breathtaking views of mountains, nature, and the serene lake. The location itself was stunning — a perfect balance of tranquil water and majestic mountains, offering a beautiful, natural backdrop to this family’s session.

Photographing toddlers can certainly come with its challenges. With their short attention spans and ever-changing moods, it’s not always easy to get them to sit still or follow directions. But it’s exactly these moments — the bursts of energy, the spontaneous laughter, and the curiosity — that truly tell the story of family life. I’ve learned how to work with toddlers’ unpredictable nature by keeping the session lighthearted and fun, allowing plenty of time for breaks and play, and using their natural energy to our advantage. By focusing on connection and playfulness, I create an environment where the kids feel free to be themselves, and the parents can relax and enjoy the experience, knowing I’m capturing the real moments that make their family unique.

Through this approach, we were able to capture a collection of genuine, joyful moments — from the toddlers exploring the surroundings, to the quiet, loving exchanges between the parents, and the family’s collective laughter as they navigated the session together. These images aren’t just pictures; they’re a reflection of the beautiful chaos of family life, the ups and downs, and the connection that holds everything together. It’s these authentic moments that make a family’s story so special, and I’m grateful to have been there to document them. The stunning scenery of Pitt Lake only added to the memories, making this session one that they’ll cherish for years to come.

I’m Lorenza. I’m a photographer based in Vancouver, BC, where I live with my wife and our one-year old daughter.

I’m obsessed with photographing families and celebrating the legacy that they are building – the one that is more important than anything else they will ever build in this life. I love capturing my clients at their beautiful best, yet never abandoning the raw and real. Neither is better than the other, and a great session is the perfect mix of both.

Say goodbye to stressful family sessions, underwhelming images, and wasted time. Instead, get ready for a seamless experience, plus photos you want to hang all over your walls – because they capture the heart of your family, and the beauty of the legacy that you’re building… and you all look amazing, too.

It’s so much more than taking pictures – it’s a celebration of the biggest treasures that life has to offer: loving, and being loved. Get to know more about me or send me an inquiry. I’d be so honored to create some magic with your family in front of my lens!

BEHIND THE LENS

ABOUT LORENZA

I am a family, newborn and maternity photographer in Vancouver, BC where I live with my wife Ilenia and our two-year old daughter, Amelie.

I grew up in Italy, where some of my happiest memories were spent flipping through old photo albums with my grandmother and my mum.
I’d get lost in those images. Even then, I understood that these photos weren’t just pictures. They were time machines. They held feelings that might have otherwise faded.

Photography has always been that for me:
a way to hold on.
to return.
to remember what really matters.

I began with a disposable camera and a quiet desire to document everything around me. Over time, that love deepened, and in 2023, when I became a mother myself, it changed everything.
Suddenly, the everyday moments became precious. I understood how uncomfortable it can feel to rush a session, to ask children to perform, to chase something that doesn’t feel true.

That experience shaped the way I work today — calmly, slowly, and with deep respect for your family as you are.
