The Beginning You’ll Want to Remember

Honest Newborn Photography in Vancouver, BC

I grew up in Italy, where I spent hours lost in old family photo albums — studying each image like it held a secret. Even then, I knew how powerful it was to hold onto a fleeting moment.
That’s what I bring to every session:
a deep love for storytelling, and a quiet reverence for this wild, beautiful life.

Hi, I’m Lorenza

You don’t need a tidy home.
You don’t need a sleeping baby.
And you don’t need to feel put together.

Newborn sessions are designed to meet you exactly where you are — in the fog, the tenderness, the in-between moments of early parenthood.

I photograph newborns the way these early days truly unfold.

Sessions are calm, unhurried, and completely led by your baby. We move slowly, pausing as often as needed for feeding, changing, soothing, or simply resting together.

There’s no posing, no rush, and no expectation for your baby to do anything in particular. Awake, sleepy, curious, fussy — all of it is welcome.

What matters most isn’t how things look.
It’s how this season feels.

You don’t need to perform or prepare.
You just need to be close to your baby.
I’ll take care of the rest.

The final photos were absolutely beautiful—natural, warm, and full of emotion. We’ll treasure them forever. I can tell Lorenza truly loves what she does and has a gift for capturing real connection.

WHY THIS MATTERS

The early days blur together faster than we expect.

The weight of your baby in your arms changes almost overnight.

One day, you’ll want to remember how small they were — and how you felt holding them.

Without photographs, so much of this season lives only in memory — and memory softens with time.

Years from now, it won’t be perfect newborn portraits you long for, but the feeling of those first days together.

These moments deserve to be remembered with care.

I don’t typically offer mini sessions because my work relies on time — time for you to relax, connect, and let real moments unfold. To create something honest and unique, I dedicate each session to one family so you receive my full attention and a completely personalized experience.
If I ever host a mini-session day, I’ll announce it on Instagram.

Do you offer mini sessions?

Newborn sessions are completely baby-led, so I don’t work with a strict clock. These early days flow at their own pace — and I follow that rhythm with care and patience.

Most sessions naturally unfold over 1.5 to 2 hours, allowing plenty of time for feeding, soothing, diaper changes, and gentle pauses whenever your baby needs them.
Whether we’re at home, outdoors, or in a studio, my goal is to create a calm, unhurried space where you can simply be with your little one while I quietly document the moments that matter most.

How long are newborn sessions?

I usually recommend scheduling newborn sessions within the first month after birth, when babies are naturally sleepy, snuggly, and easily settled. That said, there’s no exact “right” timeframe — every family, baby, and postpartum experience is different.
The best time depends on many factors: how the parent who gave birth is recovering, how your baby is doing, and how your new family routine is settling in.

My goal is to create a calm, gentle session that works for your unique circumstances, whenever that feels right for you.
No matter the timing, I’ll help capture these first precious weeks in a way that feels natural, unhurried, and deeply meaningful.

When is the best time to do newborn photos?

If you’re drawn to a mix of honest, documentary-style moments and simple, artful portraiture, then yes — we’re likely a lovely match for your newborn session. My approach is gentle, unhurried, and rooted in connection. I focus on the tiny details, the soft pauses, and the quiet tenderness that fill those early days.

If you’re looking for a photographer with a client closet, elaborate props, or highly styled newborn poses, I may not be the right fit (said with so much love!). There are wonderful photographers who specialize in that look — it’s simply not where my heart or style lives.

But if you want images that feel real and meaningful… the way your baby fits in your arms, the soft chaos of those first weeks, the love that fills your home — I would be honoured to capture this chapter for you.

Am I the right photographer for you?

Frequently asked questions

—  TANYA

I absolutely LOVED the gallery she delivered. It was a beautiful balance of posed and candid/documentary-style moment and each image felt effortless, deeply personal and special.

Afterwards, you’ll receive images that feel honest and familiar. Not overly styled. Not staged. Just true to this fleeting beginning.

These photographs aren’t about perfection.
They’re about remembering.

Before your session, it’s normal to feel unsure — especially if you’re tired, healing, or finding your rhythm as a new family.

During our time together, everything slows down. We can stay close to home if preferred, follow your baby’s cues, and let moments unfold naturally. I work gently, capturing the in-between moments that pass so quickly.
